How Vinted postage works for UK sellers
One of the best things about selling on Vinted is that you never have to work out postage prices. Here's how it works from listing to drop-off, and how to avoid the common problems.
Who pays for postage?
The buyer. When they check out, they choose a delivery option and pay for it on top of your price. You don't set a postage price, and it doesn't come out of what you earn.
Choosing a parcel size
When you list an item, you choose a parcel size: small, medium or large. Each has a weight limit, shown when you choose. The size you pick decides which delivery options and prices the buyer sees, so:
- Weigh the item with its packaging before you choose.
- Pick the size that genuinely fits. Too small and the parcel may be rejected or delayed.
- Folding clothes flat often fits them into a smaller size, which makes them cheaper for buyers.
After it sells: the label
Once an item sells, Vinted gives you the shipping details for the service the buyer chose. Depending on the service, that's a prepaid label to print or a QR or drop-off code you show at the counter or scan at a locker, so you often don't need a printer.
You then take the parcel to a drop-off point for that service: a parcel shop, a post office or a parcel locker.
How long you have to send it
Vinted gives you a set number of days to send the item, shown in the app on the order. Send it as soon as you can: buyers like fast posting, and if you miss the deadline the order can be cancelled. Saying "posted within 1 working day" in your listings and sticking to it is one of the easiest ways to get good reviews.
Packing tips
- Clothes: fold neatly, put them in a plastic bag first to keep them dry, then a mailing bag.
- Shoes and anything fragile: use a box, with paper filling the gaps.
- Reuse clean packaging, but cover or remove old labels and barcodes so the parcel isn't misrouted.
- Keep your proof of drop-off until the buyer has confirmed the order.
If something goes wrong
Use the tracking in the app to see where the parcel is. If it's lost or damaged, report it through the order in the Vinted app rather than arranging anything with the buyer privately. Never agree to send an item outside Vinted's checkout: you lose the protection, and it's how most scams start.
Less time listing, more time posting
Snappy writes the Vinted listing from a photo, including the size and condition, so you only have to pack and post.

Not always. Some delivery services use a QR or drop-off code you show or scan instead of a printed label. It depends on the service the buyer chose.
