Start with what it actually sells for

The single most useful number is not what the item cost new, and it is not what other sellers are asking. It is what similar items have actually sold for recently. Asking prices tell you what people hope for; sold prices tell you what buyers pay.

On Vinted, search for the item (brand, type and size), then look at listings marked as sold where you can see them. eBay is also useful here, even if you are selling on Vinted: search the item, tick Sold items in the filters, and you get real prices from the last few months.

Collect five or six comparable sales. Ignore the odd one that went unusually high or low, and take the middle of the rest. That is your starting point.

Adjust for condition, brand and size

Comparable means comparable. Nudge your starting price up or down for what makes yours different:

Leave room for offers

Offers are normal on Vinted, and many buyers will send one whatever your price is. If you want £20, listing at £22 to £24 lets you accept a reasonable offer and still get what you wanted.

Do not go much higher than that. An obviously overpriced item gets scrolled past, and fewer people favourite it, which means fewer people to sell to later.

Use bundles for cheaper items

Low-value items (a few pounds each) are often better sold together. Buyers like saving on postage, and a bundle of five kids' tops sells more easily than five separate listings. Vinted lets you set a bundle discount on your profile, so buyers who pick several of your items get money off automatically.

When and how to drop the price

Give a new listing a week or two. Then look at the signals:

Small, regular drops work better than one big cut, and a listing that has sat for a long time can do better relisted with fresh photos.

How Snappy prices an item

Snappy writes the price with its reasoning: roughly what the item cost new, what that brand and condition typically sells for secondhand in the UK, a realistic range, and whether demand for that kind of item is rising or falling. You can see the working, so you can disagree with it. It is a starting point for your own judgement, not a rule.

FAQ

Should I price on Vinted to match eBay?

Use eBay sold prices as evidence of value, but expect Vinted prices for everyday clothing to be a little lower. For branded, collectable or technical items, the gap is often smaller.

Is it better to price low and sell fast?

Only if speed matters more to you than money. A fair price with a little room for offers usually sells within a couple of weeks for noticeably more.

How much should I knock off for wear?

There is no fixed rule. Compare with sold items in the same condition. Visible flaws (marks, bobbling, missing buttons) should be photographed and priced in.

Do I pay fees when I sell on Vinted?

For private sellers in the UK, Vinted charges the buyer a protection fee rather than charging the seller a selling fee. Fees change, so check Vinted's own help pages for the current position.
