What makes an Etsy listing work

Etsy is different from the clearout apps: buyers come for vintage, handmade and craft supplies, and they read. A good Etsy listing has:

All 13 tags used, each a phrase buyers actually search ("vintage coffee pot", "70s stoneware"). Each tag can be up to 20 characters.
A descriptive title with the item, era, material and style up front.
A description with character: an evocative first line, then materials, era, dimensions and condition.
Exact dimensions, because buyers can't pick it up.
Honest condition, especially for vintage: crazing, chips, wear.

One rule to know: on Etsy, vintage means at least 20 years old, and everything else should be handmade by you or be a craft supply. Clearing out everyday secondhand items? Vinted or eBay is a better fit.
